Top Ten Things You Need to Know About Soul Warrior:

Hello! I’m a total myth geek and nothing gives me more pleasure than to talk about mythology—especially Indian mythology. Most especially, I love gushing about Indian mythology as pertains to my new mythic fantasy series, The Age of Kali, to new and fabulous readers.

10) The series may be a trilogy or a sept-ology. There are too many stories to tell, and too many characters to herd to their happy endings. I’m leaning toward seven books. (Oh my!)

9) Indian mythology can (almost) be traced back to the Big Bang. The Mahabharata is the longest and one of the oldest epics in the world. Think Iliad and Odyssey smashed together and quadrupled in size.

8)Ancient India either was a technologically super advanced civilization OR may have been the cultural breeding ground for the world’s very first SFF fiction. Talk about celestial weapons (divya astras); magic; super humans; shape-shifters; flying machines (vimanas); and aliens in space suits (kavacha).

7) Indian mythology is also pregnant with practices in in-vitro fertilization where a God “assists” a couple to get pregnant with “magic” and test-tube babies where a sage splits a human zygote into 101 different babies. Sci-fi or advanced medicine?

6)Demons were up to no good in ancient times…and are up to no good now either. And are all mostly naked in Soul Warrior.

5)There are 330 million gods in the Hindu pantheon. I’ve added a dozen more to the roster.

4) There’s Heaven and Hell, the Demon and Human Realms for the normal folk...and seven fantastical loks for the “other” folk.

3) Soul Warrior’s heroine is Draupadi, one of the leading characters of the Mahabharata. Think Helen of Troy with 5 husbands. An icon of Indian culture and mythology. The world’s first feminist.

2) Soul Warrior’s hero is Karna, the son of the Sun God, a mighty and great warrior. Think Achilles…and his weak heel. Karna is handsome and honorable, chivalrous and charitable…and has one heck of a heel-stomping temper.

1) Kali isn’t who you think she is.

So there you have it, folks: Soul Warrior, a vaudevillian saga of magic, mystery, intrigue and romance.
