Participants Must:
- Be 21 years of age or older
- Participate in all screening & pre-departure activities (~3-5 online meetings, 1/2 day pre-departure orientation)
- Be healthy and able to travel in difficult conditions (extreme heat, crowded conditions)
- Have valid international medical and emergency evacuation insurance during the field program
- Contribute to research and capacity-building activities at levels appropriate to their experience and profession

Program Fee: $2900.00 USD (fundraising tools and options available)
- Fee Includes: All accommodation in Myanmar for up to 3 weeks program (single occupancy, western standards),
ground transportation in Myanmar, 1/3 or more of meals, liability insurance, all research training,
workshops, seminars and educational materials in country, access to international and local
experts, participation in scientific research projects and co-authorship on abstracts, papers and
publications in accordance with level of contribution
- Does not include: Airfare, medical insurance, emergency evacuation insurance, academic credit (available for
eligible participants for a fee)

- This program is designed to not only build capacity for our local partners at universities in Myanmar, but to build the
capacity of program participants so they can be the next generation of global public health leaders.
- If you participate fully in the research and writing activities of this program, GEH LAB can help you submit your work
for presentation and publication and build your CV.
- If you would like academic credit for your participation in the program this is available the Northern Illinois University
Study Abroad Office (tuition fees apply)
- The program encompasses much more than the weeks we spend in the field as the projects and collaborations are
ongoing. Although it is not required, all of our past participants have worked with GEH LAB for at least 6 months.
