Challenges facing EMS today include recruitment and retention of EMS practitioners to the field, and the increase in the amount and quality of scientific research that guides the future practice of EMS. The NAEMT Foundation aims to address these challenges and better the future of EMS by:

• Supporting outreach programs

• Providing information about EMS careers to young adults

• Funding EMS related scholarships

• Supporting evidence-based EMS research
