A 29-year-old man was killed and a 26-year-old man was in the hospital nursing a broken arm and leg after a single-car accident on the Bruckner Expressway in the Bronx early Wednesday, officials said.

Wendell Cheeseboro, of the Bronx, was driving a 2006 Dodge Charger north-bound on the Bruckner near Exit 52 in Hunts Point about 3:20 a.m. when he lost control of the vehicle and struck the median.

Cheeseboro was speeding at the time of the accident, a police source said.

First responders rushed him to Jacobi Hospital, but doctors were unable to save Cheeseboro.

His passenger suffered a broken right arm and broken right leg and was listed in critical condition at Jacobi Medical Center, officials said. The passenger’s name was not immediately disclosed.

The NYPD Collision Investigation Squad was trying to determine what sparked the crash Wednesday morning.
