Bonnaroo-ready guitar rock isn’t what typically comes to mind when thinking about Giorgio Moroder’s brand of electronic disco. But that’s exactly the genre the pioneering DJ has tackled in his latest remix of My Morning Jacket’s 2015 track “Compound Fracture.”

“The song was great to being with,” Moroder said in a press release. “There is so much energy in their music that lends itself naturally to the electronic world. The first time I heard the song, I was immediately inspired to add the essence of disco without taking away from the existing melody. This remix will make people smile; make them want to dance.”

The remix is just the latest project in what has been a busy year of collaborations for Moroder, who released his first studio album in 30 years back in June. Déjà Vu featured guest spots from stars including Charli XCX and Sia — but no one like My Morning Jacket.

My Morning Jacket released The Waterfall, which includes “Compound Fracture,” in May. Check out Moroder’s remix below.
