Portrait of Ada, Countess of Lovelace, almost three-quarter length, in profile to left with head turned and looking to front, holding a closed fan in both gloved hands; wearing pink dress with shawl, hair worn up with wide curls to either side of her face, a white band with large white flower and sprigs with yellow flowers, and long black diaphanous scarf trailing over her left shoulder and also behind her.
Pen and brown ink with brush drawing and watercolour, edges cut to an octagon

- Traces of paper backing and adhesive (seals?) on verso, some loss at lower edge. Prints & Drawings also holds the print made after Chalon's design by Mote, also with an octagonal frame, from which this may have been copied.
