Vineland police calls for Feb. 23

  • A 24-year-old Vineland man was not injured when he lost control of his 1999 Dodge Ram when the front wheel broke off as he was driving on Main Road, near Sherman Avenue, on Monday morning.  The vehicle struck a utility pole. An investigator confirmed a piece of the suspension equipment was snapped. No summons was issued.
  • A deer collided with a Jeep at 5:21 a.m. Monday on Panther Road, near Juniper Street. The vehicle sustained moderate damage but was driven away.
  • Lucecita Wright, 24, of Newport News, Va., was issued a careless driving ticket after a collision 8:06 a.m. Monday at Garden Road and East Avenue. Wright pulled to the side of the road to make a U-turn, which caused the driver behind her to swerve and run off the road into a wooded area, police said.

Family Dollar robbed again

  • Police are investigating a hit-and-run involving a parked Sheppard Bus Service school bus Monday afternoon at Elmer Road and Delsea Drive. The bus was parked in front of the driver’s residence when it was hit on the rear driver’s side by a gray Subaru, which sustained heavy damage to the front passenger side before it left the area. Officers collected debris from the suspect’s vehicle at the scene, which was placed in evidence.
  • Maricely Acevedo, 31, of the 1900 block of North East Avenue, was ticketed for improper passing after a witness said she was passing in a no-passing zone and then didn’t have room to pull back into the lane when faced with an oncoming vehicle. Acevedo’s Honda Civic ran off the road hitting a mailbox and a parked vehicle before stopping in a patch of trees Monday evening. Acevedo and her passenger were taken to Inspira Medical Center Vineland. Her car was towed from the scene.
  • William G. Ruggieri, 32, of the 2700 block of Dante Avenue, was issued a careless driving summons after a collision Tuesday morning at Lincoln Avenue and Spring Road.
  • Kristen M. Heilig, 26, of Erial, was cited for driving on a suspended license after a crash Tuesday afternoon at Main Road, near Phillip Street. Heilig told police she swerved to miss a cat in the road and lost control of her vehicle, which hit a street sign.

Pittsgrove man charged with robbery, burglary

  • Kristie L. Knapp, 31, of Folsom, was issued a careless driving ticket after a collision 1:40 p.m. Tuesday at Sherman Avenue and the Boulevard. Knapp told police she spilled a drink just prior to making a left turn, which caused her to hit another vehicle.
  • Dominica R. Stillwagon, 74, of Vineland Avenue in Deerfield Township, was cited for a stop sign violation after a collision 4:02 p.m. Tuesday at Garden and Mill roads. The other driver, a 26-year-old Vineland woman was taken to Inspira Medical Center Vineland, after the impact sent her vehicle spinning off the road, police  said.
