Roberts Athlete of the Week 3

Men's Track & Field

THREE-PEAT! Roberts named ODAC Field Athlete of the Week

FOREST, Virginia - Virginia Wesleyan University's Geni Roberts of the men's track and field team was named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference field athlete of the week for the third week in a row following yet another record breaking performance at the Inaugural Kenneth Giles Norfolk State Invitational this past weekend in Virginia Beach, VA.

Roberts took third in the men's long jump at the Inaugural Kenneth Giles Norfolk State Invitational with a mark of 7.24M. The sophomores jump tops his mark from last week of 7.07M which broke the long standing seven year old record of 7.05M formerly held by Ethan Fowlkes set in 2014. Roberts' distance still keeps him atop the TFRRS.org performance list for Division III athletes as he holds a .19M advantage over the person in second (7.05M).

Roberts has been the only ODAC Track Athlete of the Week honoree of the 2021 season as he has claimed all three awards this season. Last season Roberts garnered All-American status, All-Region and All-State honors, and he was the ODAC's 2019-20 Indoor T&F Rookie of the Year.
