Lamar Odom and Khloé Kardashian not only are still married — they're staying married, according to court documents filed Wednesday.

The news comes despite a season of the couple's planning their divorce before millions of TV viewers on "Keeping Up With the Kardashians."

Odom — who is recovering in a Los Angeles hospital after he was found unconscious at a Nevada brothel this month — and Kardashian actually filed divorce paperwork in Los Angeles Superior Court over the summer, but the paperwork sat in the court pipeline since then and has never been signed by a judge.

Laura Wasser, an attorney for Kardashian, asked a judge Tuesday to withdraw the divorce petition. The petition was granted Wednesday — meaning the divorce case is over. The dismissal identifies Kardashian as Khloé Kardashian Odom, her married name.

As the former pro basketball star's spouse, Kardashian — who's been at Odom's side ever since he was rushed to a Las Vegas hospital from the Love Ranch in Crystal, Nevada, two weeks ago — is in a position to make decisions about Odom's medical care.

Kardashian made her first public statement Tuesday, thanking doctors and well-wishers for their support.

"This past week has been incredibly difficult," Kardashian posted on her website. "You can never be prepared for an experience like this, but without the outpouring of love and endless prayers that Lamar has received and the strength I was given from loved ones, it would have been difficult to endure."

Odom had multiple drugs in his system when he was found unconscious at the Love Ranch after a $75,000 multi-day party with two women. He regained consciousness last week and was able to speak to Khloe Kardashian, who had stayed close to his bedside, sources told NBC News' sister network E!

A source close the couple told E! that there are no immediate plans for Odom to be discharged from the Los Angeles hospital where he is reported to be improving.

"Every day he is getting a bit better, but he is continuing to have extensive tests on his cognitive and motor functions, so no one can make a definitive diagnosis yet," E! quoted the source Wednesday as saying. "He is more coherent day by day."
