‘Star Wars’ tickets go on sale after trailer debut on Monday Night Football

Not all Star Wars fans will have to wait in line for tickets.

Lucasfilm announced on Sunday that advance ticket sales and a new trailer for the J.J. Abrams-directed film, “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” will arrive on Monday Oct.19. The trailer will air during ESPN’s Monday Night Football game between the New York Giants and the Philadelphia Eagles.

Disney announced in a statement that following the launch of the trailer, tickets will be sold everywhere movie tickets are sold. Both Lucasfilm and ESPN are owned by The Walt Disney Co.

To celebrate the news, the “Star Wars” official Twitter account tweeted a new poster for the film, confirming that fans will get to see a new trailer starring Daisy Ridley, Oscar Isaac and John Boyega, along with the return of original “Star Wars” stars Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels and Peter Mayhew.

New teaser clips have now been released ahead of the trailer’s Monday debut with the caption: “The Resistance gathers tomorrow.” The clips feature glimpses of the main protagonists played by Ridley, Isaac and Boyega.
