Bay didn’t waste words bringing Sheeran out and instead just offered a simple introduction — to the audience’s cheers — with the superstar strumming along on his acoustic guitar and handling lead vocals on the second verse and chorus.
“Ed doesn’t have to turn up and guest on mates’ records or gigs,” said Bay in a statement. “But he’s a real musician who just really loves to play. What’s awesome for the rest of us is that he’s so generous with that.”

The two first met at the The Brit Awards earlier this year, according to Bay’s rep, where Bay won the Critics’ Choice award and Sheeran took home the British Album and British Male Solo Artist awards.
