This past week, I visited an incredibly passionate Case IH farm family, The Fliess family.
Tom Fliess Jr. is a lifelong farmer who has taken the reigns from his father and over the years has built an incredible collection of Case IH memorabilia - from original hand drawn engineering designs to toys... from belt buckles to Christmas ornaments, and of course, a pristine line up of tractors that the family has used for decades to farm just west of our commercial headquarters in Racine, Wi. You can literally walk through the history of our great brand right here.
Tom’s daughter said to me that "nothing makes him happier than farming, his family, and Case IH"… I learned very quickly just how true her words were.
There are a couple of reasons I’m sharing this story here – first I was really inspired by Tom and his family, not to mention his impressive collection and passion for Case IH located so close to the where the Case IH story itself started.
But perhaps what inspired me more even more is that Tom and his family are such a genuine reflection of this community, the farm community, the people we have the privilege of serving every day. Authentic, passionate, humble, hard-working people with generationally strong family and community ties and values.
I'm proud to know that Case IH has had a lifelong impact that has been woven into the fabric of the Fliess family – and so many others like them across the globe. It's why I go to work every day - and why Case IH is what it is today. Thanks Tom – I appreciate you and those like you, what you do and maybe most importantly how you do it.
