Ambulance, tractor-trailer, 3 cars involved in morning interstate crash

A rush-hour crash snarled traffic on Interstate 20 near Leeds this morning, but authorities say there were no serious injuries.

The crash happened about 7:50 a.m. on Interstate 20 near the Bass Pro Shop. Alabama state troopers said the accident involved an ambulance, a tractor-trailer and three passenger cars.

The ambulance was transporting a patient, and that patient was transferred to another ambulance and taken to the hospital, said Sr. Trooper Chuck Daniel. The others involved suffered only minor injuries.

All lanes were reopened by 11 a.m.
