Lego 2017 Ford GT Makes Us Long for the Real Thing
Lego has a great setup on their website called Lego Ideas. Basically, a builder builds a custom model from their products, submits it to the site, and people vote on it. If the idea gets enough support, Lego will put the model into production. That’s why we hope this Lego Ford GT gets all the support!
Builder Alex submitted his meticulously detailed Ford GT model to the folks at Lego Ideas, and now officially has 825 supporters. That needs to change, since 10,000 supporters are needed for Lego to consider building the model.
McLaren-style doors fold open to reveal a detailed interior straight from the Ford GT. Sure, he couldn’t duplicate the steering wheel, but the instrument cluster configuration is nearly spot on.
The center exhausts are spot on, and the car’s rear taillights even have the ports for the turbo wastegates. The entire model is in blue, which is not only a color indicative of Ford, but the color they used to show off the Ford GT when it was revealed back in January.
We love Legos, and we love this model. If you do as well, head on over to the Lego Ideas page and support the project.
What do you think about this model? Would you buy one? Sound off in the forums!
