Happy Holidays | BC SUPPORT Unit sends season's greetings to you

The BC SUPPORT Unit team, including staff members from across British Columbia at the Provincial Hub, regional centres, Methods Clusters, Demonstration Projects, wish to send you - our stakeholders, funders and partners - the very best for the holiday season. 

Please note that the Provincial Hub (Vancouver Centre) will be closed between December 26th, 2017 and January 2nd, 2018. The four additional regional centres will be closed, or have reduced services during this time:

Announcements | Larry Mróz accepts position of Research Navigation Coordinator at the Unit's Provincial Hub

We are delighted to announce that Dr. Lawrence (Larry) Mróz has accepted the new position of Research Navigation Coordinator, effective January 2nd, 2018.
 
Based at the Unit's Provincial Hub, Dr. Mróz will provide day-to-day support and guidance for research navigation services to stakeholders in British Columbia who are interested in, or conducting, patient-oriented research (POR).

He will support work with research and health care partners in the Vancouver region, collaborate with provincial regional centres (Fraser, Interior, Northern and Vancouver Island Centres) and work with stakeholders: patients, researchers, health care providers and health system decision makers.

Human Resources | BC SUPPORT Unit seeks Stakeholder Relations Specialist

We are looking for a Stakeholder Relations Specialist. This individual will be a key member of the BC SUPPORT Unit Provincial Hub and regional centre teams, and will be responsible for identifying and stewarding multiple partner and stakeholder relationships. They will assist with defining and implementing new engagement practices and approaches to ensure the success of all initiatives, including ongoing research projects.

There is no application deadline; the posting will remain open until a successful candidate is found. If you know of someone who may be ideal for this position, we encourage you to share this posting.

Methods Clusters | Cluster leads seek your involvement and engagement

Real World Clinical Trials (RWCT)
  • The themes and potential project ideas derived from stakeholder consultation are available at on the cluster webpage. Please respond to our call for input into, and interest in participating in these potential projects by December 15th, 2017.
  • Interested in helpful resources related to real-world clinical trials and patient-oriented research? Check out the collated resources on a new resources page.
Patient Engagement (PE)
  • Interested in informing the development of the Patient Engagement Methods Cluster? Please respond to the Expression of Interest/survey.
  • Save the date! Interviews with stakeholders are underway; these conversations will inform the content and format of the Visioning Workshop to be held on February 20th, 2018 at the Pinnacle Hotel Vancouver Harbourfront. 
Health Economics and Simulation Modelling (HESM) and
Data Science and Health Informatics (DaSHI)
  • The themes and potential project areas derived from stakeholder consultations are currently under review by the stakeholders.
Knowledge Translation and Implementation Science (KT/IS)
  • Project proposals are being developed for inclusion in the cluster’s workplan.
