Dominion Contains Fire at Ekati Mine in Canada

RAPAPORT... Dominion Diamond Corporation said a fire broke out at its
Ekati mine in Canada’s Northwest Territories on Thursday, prompting all staff
to be evacuated from the process plant.
The blaze started at 7 a.m. during a planned outage. The incident
management team was activated to respond and the emergency response team was
called to the scene. The fire was contained, all personnel were accounted for
and no injuries were reported, the miner said in a statement the same day.
“Our first priority is the safety and well-being of our
workforce and of all the people involved in responding to this incident,” the
miner said.
