On Thursday, August 27, Tropical Storm Erika unleashed 12 inches of rain on the Eastern Caribbean island of Dominica, causing extensive flooding, loss of life and more than US$200 million in damage.

"Caribbean Hotels Unite for Dominica" is a joint fundraising initiative between the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association (CHTA) and the Dominica Hotel and Tourism Association for the people of Dominica and to help those affected by Tropical Storm Erika.

The proceeds will be directed to address urgent needs identified through close cooperation with all relief organizations in Dominica and the individual communities affected by Tropical Storm Erika.

“It was rewarding to see how quickly and enthusiastically our Caribbean hotels responded to our outreach - we are a large Caribbean family who can rely on each other in our respective times of need ,” said Mrs Karolin Troubetzkoy, the 1st Vice President of the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association. “Now the time has come for the World to show support for our initiative by bidding on the many amazing auction lots now showcased on Charitybuzz."
