I must preface this review saying, "I don't like hiding my reviews due to spoilers. With this in mind, the majority of this review contains spoilers."
So considering the hook from the previous novel was intense, I decided to read the discription before diving into this novel. This was a bad idea. Needless to say, I was shocked, extremely heartbroken as well as pissed as it seems my favorite character was killed off. Dammit!
However, Nadler shocked the hell out of me... finally.
Nadler wrote this novel extremely well to the point that I didn't want to pick it up and start reading with the fear that my favorite character was killed off. Nadler built up the opening but didn't lag with the outcome. It was written so well. I loved how Julie gave us her point of view and you breath a sigh of relief.
One piece that had me wary was Bill's therapy dog being named Bullet. Not sure how I felt about this considering he tried to take his own life with a bullet...
Overall, this was an easy and quick read. I liked that Nadler is finally going with less than 200 pages. It lagged a bit starting in the middle and into the end; so much so that I would dose off.
The beginning was very strong and the ending was meh; good cliffhanger but could have used a little more power.
Another truly fabulous book in this amazing series! I am so glad there's more goodness coming with book 15! Can't wait for December to come to see what happens next!
