MILLVILLE – A Cape May County grand jury on Tuesday indicted a Millville special police officer on a child porn possession charge, according to state Superior Court records.

New Jersey State Police arrested 31-year-old Samuel F. Brozina on July 25, 2017. He was charged then with third-degree child endangerment by possessing/viewing child pornography. The grand jury returned the same charge.

Brozina, a Clover Lane resident, immediately was suspended without pay from his part-time position.

Millville attorney Brendan Kavanagh, who represents Brozina, confirmed the indictment but declined comment on Friday.

The charge against Brozina came out of a state police investigation into the July 13 death of his girlfriend, 27-year-old Andrea Elyse Tepper of Millville. Tepper died while staying at a beach house in Strathmere.

State police, at the time of his arrest, said that detectives searched Brozina’s cellphone and found “sexually explicit images of children under the age of 18.”

Court records do not show Brozina scheduled for a post-indictment arraignment hearing yet.
