There is water on Mars, and Bill Nye is really, really amped about it.

"Wherever we find water on Earth, we find living things," the Science Guy told a panel on Tuesday evening's Nightly Show, discussing NASA's blockbuster announcement that they discovered evidence of water on Mars.

"It would change the world. Abso-freaking-lutely. Everybody would think very differently about what it means to be a living thing in the cosmos."

He then went on to blow everyone's minds by explaining an alternate theory of the origins of human life, where microbes on mars rocks that made their way to a then-lifeless Earth were the source of all the life on this planet. Martian ancestors for everyone!

Sadly, his big questions—"Are we alone in the universe? Where did we all come from?"—weren't as captivating to the rest of the panel.

"Why would I be excited about Mars? I'm barely excited about Earth!" Nightly Show contributor Ricky Velez joked. "Trump is first in polls right now! Let's defeat ISIS! How about that!"

But Ricky brings up an important point—if Trump wants to rule a country so bad, why not just ship him to Mars? There's water there! He'll be fine!
