Recently, we featured a way to use an Amazon Dash Button as a personal data tracker. Now, using a similar setup, you can hack your Dash Button into a “bring me pizza” button.
If you’re anything like me, an instant pizza button like this is practically the holy grail. Using the Domino’s Pizza API and a few other npm modules, Brody Berson at Medium made it possible to order his preferred pizza from Domino’s delivery with the press of a button. You can see it in action in the video above. If you’re worried about how complicated it seems, don’t fret. You can check out an example of the “pizzadash” node.js application on GitHub and set up your own from there in no time at all.
You may not be a Domino’s Pizza fan, but what’s exciting is that this could be tweaked to other delivery-capable eateries as well. The danger of this kind of power, of course, is someone pressing the button over and over not knowing what it does.
