Riviera ‘55 - Riviera ‘57 - Welcome ‘59
There are design elements in the first two Riviera signs which show up in the Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign – letters in coins, offset geometric board, double pylon with a star.
The Welcome sign was made by Western Electric Displays (aka Western Neon) and designed by Betty Willis. Western Neon also made the earlier Riviera signs, both possibly designed by Willis.
