Victorian entertainment: Steampunk fans from across the continent have taken over uphill Lincoln for the biggest festival of its kind in Europe.

Thousands of Steampunk fans from across the continent have taken over uphill Lincoln for the biggest festival of its kind in Europe.

The event, which runs through the Bank Holiday weekend, celebrates a steam powered world in the late-Victorian era.

Dressed in corsets, aviator goggles and top hats, fans have been treated to a full programme of art, literature, music, fashion and comedy.

An extra direct London-Lincoln service from Virgin Trains East Coast was also put on, allowing visitors to travel up for the day from the capital.
