Join us as we view portions of the documentary, “In Remembrance of Martin: The Story of America’s Prophet of Nonviolence and Justice Told by Those Who Know Him Best.” 

 

Find out the story of the man, Martin Luther King Jr as told by family, friends and advisors such as Senator Edward Kennedy, Bishop Desmond Tutu, Joan Baez, Coretta Scott King and others.

 

Dr. King’s “I Have a Dream” speech will be highlighted to help trace his leadership in the civil rights movement.

 

This is the first in the series of programs on PEOPLE of PEACE which will be presented by a variety of presenters about different people of peace such as: Mother Teresa, Pope Francis, Dorothy Stang, John Vanier, Thich Nhat Hahn and others.

 

$25 fee includes lunch. Registration required.

 

This is an introductory course in the Nonviolence Leadership Certificate Program. Open to everyone.

Mark Klym is certified by the University of Rhode Island, Center for Nonviolence and Peace Studies as a Level II Kingian Nonviolence Trainer and holds a Master of Public Administration degree. He has over 20 years experience in violence prevention programs and is a co-founder and co-director of the Phoenix Nonviolence TruthForce.
