RICHMOND, B.C. – Speed and fading light may have contributed to a fatal jet ski accident that claimed two lives off Richmond, B.C.
RCMP Cpl. Dennis Hwang says two men in their 50s suffered severe head injuries at around 9 p.m. Thursday. They have now been identified as Ramanjit Bachra, age 56, and Salinder Burmy, age 56, both of Richmond.
Hwang says foul play is not suspected in the deaths, but Mounties and the coroners service are continuing to investigate.
A tug boat operator called for help when he spotted the pair floating on the south side of the Fraser River.
Police say a jet ski was found nearby and that the men were wearing life-jackets.
