Police are searching for the owner of an urn found during a drug bust in London, Ont.

The urn was found during the execution of a search warrant on Simcoe Street in late May, police said in a statement on Friday.

Five London residents were arrested and charged with drug-related offences after police seized 15.2 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 5.8 grams of marijuana and a quantity of the muscle relaxant diazepam. The total value of the drugs seized was estimated at $1,623.

Along with the drugs, police seized an urn containing human ashes.

In the statement, police said the person who lived at the home was not aware of what the item was, nor did he have an explanation for owning it.

They said the numbers on the tag inside the urn mean the deceased passed away in the mid-1990s.

The urn is wooden, and measures approximately 1 sq. ft. It has no identifiable markings.
