Mazda Drive for Good Raises $5.4 Million and 67,500 Volunteer Hours for Charity
Ready for a warm, fuzzy feeling? Because here it comes.
The event has been over since January 3rd, but now all the figures have been brought together from 2016’s Mazda Drive for Good program. The Drive for Good works each year by pledging charity in two ways: for each test drive, Mazda pledges one hour of charity work; and for each new vehicle bought or leased, $150 is donated to the buyer’s choice of a list of national and local charities.

Thanks to funds raised during this year’s program, Mazda North America has announced that, in total, it will be making donations totaling more than $5.4 million to charities across the US over the course of 2017. In addition, employees, dealers, and partners of Mazda North America have pledged a total of over 67,500 hours of charitable service in 2017.
Whew, that’s a lot of test drives and new Mazdas.
“Being an active member in the community is an important aspect of who we are as a company and what the Mazda Drive for Good program stands for,” said Masahiro Moro, president and CEO of Mazda North American Operations. “Because of this, we are proud to not only support our national and local charity partners through donations, but to also provide extra hands to the local organizations that make a difference in their community each and every day.”
In total, this year’s donations and volunteer hours bring the program’s total up to more than $18.4 million in donations and nearly 263,000 hours of charity work.
