Baltimore officer arrested in Ocean City
Erick Ohmstede arrested, charged with public intoxication
A Baltimore police officer has been suspended after being arrested in Ocean City, police said.
The Ocean City Police Department notified the Baltimore Police Department Wednesday of an arrest involving an active city officer.
Police said Officer Erick Ohmstede was arrested early Wednesday morning in Ocean City. He was charged with disorderly conduct and public intoxication.
Ohmstede, a four-year veteran of the force who is assigned to the Eastern District, had his police powers suspended and was placed on administrative duties.
"The charges against Officer Ohmstede are concerning," Interim Commissioner Kevin Davis said. "Anyone who has the privilege of wearing this badge and this patch is held to a higher standard and is expected to conduct themselves in an appropriate manner."
A booking photo for Ohmstede was not yet released by police.
