    Suicide in the United States has surged to the highest levels in nearly 30 years. Having suicidal thoughts or feelings can be frightening. Maybe you’re embarrassed to share your thoughts with others. Or, you’ve tried talking about it, but don’t feel anyone listened or understood. Please, don’t give up. Talk about it. Create a culture of kindness and a message of hope. If you, a friend, or family member is struggling emotionally, you, are not alone. Here are 15 ways to promote mental health.

    Ask, “Are you OK?”

    Say, “I love you”

    Talk about your feelings, no need to hide

    Give or provide moral support

    Make relaxation part of your everyday routine

    Trash your insecurities

    Challenge mental health stigma

    Promote self-acceptance

    Practice self-care

    Tap into your creativity! Art can be therapeutic
