Thailand and New Zealand have agreed to elevate their bilateral relationship to a Strategic Partnership by 2026, when the two countries celebrate the seventieth anniversary of diplomatic relations.

The Government has thanked all relevant agencies for joining hands in organizing the Maha Songkran World Water Festival, which attracted a great number of both Thai and international tourists, and it proved highly successful.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been monitoring events with regard to the current situation in the Middle East and reports of rising tensions between Israel and Iran. It has also instructed Thai embassies in the region to continue to follow and assess this unfolding situation closely.

Thailand has decided to submit a proposal to nominate four areas of ancient towns of Songkhla as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Cabinet, during its meeting on 9 April 2024, approved the document on the proposal to be submitted for UNESCO’s 2025 Tentative List of World Heritage Sites.

The Government supports the construction of a cruise terminal on Ko Samui, or Samui Island, in the southern province of Surat Thani to promote local tourism and upgrade Ko Samui to become one of the world’s top livable islands.

Thailand and Germany have agreed to elevate their relations to a strategic partnership, which Thailand believes that bilateral cooperation will significantly increase in an inclusive manner, covering regional cooperation with ASEAN and in the Indo-Pacific region.

Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Srettha Thavisin highlighted infrastructure development as a key priority for Thailand, saying that one of the central goals of the Thai government is to foster equality through economic growth, as it firmly believes that infrastructure is at the heart of enabling progress and access across all sectors of the economy.

A series of workshops under the project “Little Chefs, Big Hearts” has been carried out to develop the skills of youth in the southern border provinces of Thailand, to help them progress toward culinary professions.

The Ministry of Public Health has been developing the health system on Lipe Island, or Ko Lipe, in the southern border province of Satun, in response to the Government’s policy of ensuring the safety of tourists traveling in the deep South.

The Government has reaffirmed its intention to give a major boost to tourism activities in the southern border provinces, so that they will have greater opportunities to attract more tourist arrivals and generate more income.

His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua has called on Thai people to join hands definitely and firmly. If there are any obstacles, they should face them mindfully and wisely and work together to tackle the problems with rationale, principles, and purity of mind.

The Government has invited people to visit the latest OTOP fair, which will give a boost to local products under the Foundation for the Promotion of Supplementary Occupations and Related Techniques (SUPPORT), established by Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother.

The day of 28 July marks the birthday of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua (Rama X). Thai people have carried out various activities to show their loyalty to His Majesty the King on the occasion of his 71st birthday anniversary this year.
