THUNDER BAY – City police are reminding the public about the dangers of being near train tracks following a fatal incident this past weekend.

Thunder Bay Police Service officers arrived at the scene of a fatal incident Sunday morning near Pacific Avenue and North Hardisty Street. Police say a man was discovered beside the tracks.

Police say it ‘appeared’ to have been struck by a train.

Emergency crews arrived on scene and attempted to revive the man, but were not successful.

He was transported to the hospital where he later died from his injuries.

Police are now waiting on a coroner’s report, but say foul play is not suspected at this time.
