This project demonstrates that everything must go somewhere and thus there is no way in which things can be thrown. This installation will confront the public with the unimaginable cumulative mass of waste that is produced as a society.

Time of the Empress uses images of modernist buildings suspended in loops of simultaneous construction and disintegration to cast a meditational glance at historical cycles of growth and decay, destruction and renewal and the fragility of the present.

'refugees run the seas...', 2014

'refugees run the seas...' is an intervention on a billboard that draws and diverts from pop culture and imagines a future where justice for migrants exists. It evokes scenes of harrowing escape and imagines a time to come when those seeking refuge are agents of movement, rather than victims.

Beaufort 10: Frio Estudio del Desastre , 2005
Los Carpinteros
Frio Estudio del Desastre reconstructs an exploding wall. Shattered fragments of cinder block hang suspended in the air while a gaping hole in the wall indicates the point of impact of the blast responsible for this domestic ground zero.

Pattern Study, 2015

Pattern Study is a textile collage that explores pattern, texture and line in space. Looking closely at the structures found in textiles, this work creates an immersive environment by expanding the scale of textile structures to the scale of architecture.

Mimir's Well, 2015
Michael Howatson
Mímir's Well is an immersive and interactive sculpture where you can step up, lean in and gaze at your reflection. As the inky water recedes your image will be revealed shapeshifting into that of an animal. Each participant will take away an artifact.

EMPREINTES, 2015
Pascale Peyret
Carbonized shoelaces suspended in the atrium evoke the 'hanging rooms' of coal mines. They carry messages by local children and a calculation of their carbon footprint. The work speaks to the visible and invisible footprints we leave each day.

Solid States, 2015
An Te Liu
Solid States continues Liu's practice of making artworks that combine modernist and ethnographic traditions in art with the detritus of consumerism. Sculpting found materials and then casting them in bronze, Liu creates hybrid sculptural objects.
