Muhammad Gohar Maqbool, MRCP (UK); MRCPE; FRACP; FRCPA, University Hospital Bristol NHS Foundation Trust, Bristol, UK, discusses challenges with diagnosing CAR-T cell-related hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (CAR-HLH), and the need to develop better diagnostic criteria for this complication. Dr Gohar Maqbool also comments on how CAR-HLH impacts patient outcome, and further explains the similarities and differences between CAR-HLH and cytokine release syndrome (CRS).
