The Golden Guardians were introduced at a Warriors game

Oracle Arena got the first live look at the new NA LCS team.

The Golden Guardians official 2018 roster were introduced live and in-person for the first time ever at last night’s Golden State Warriors home game at Oracle Arena.

The team will compete in the 2018 North American LCS as one of Riot Games’ ten franchised teams within the league. The Golden Guardians’ roster is led by four veteran North American League of Legends players including former FlyQuest, mid laner Hai Lam and last year’s Cloud9 jungler, Juan “Contractz” Garcia.

The team also includes the impressive rookie prospect Matthew “Deftly” Chen, who played AD Carry in the Challenger Series last year for eUnited. Also present for the introduction were support, Matt Elento, top laner, Sam “Lourlo” Jackson and coach Choi “Locodoco” Yoonsup.

The players got to head behind the scenes at Oracle as well including the chance to try on some of the Warriors’ championship rings.

Based on some of the players social media feeds, it would appear that the team also had the chance to spend some time with the Warriors players on the court during their warm ups.

Though Golden State co-owner Peter Guber has been involved in League of Legends esports for almost two years, after purchasing Team Liquid in 2016, The Golden Guardians are the Warriors’ first official foray into esports as an organization.
