GCI is thrilled to announce that applications for the Sixth Annual GCI Fellowship with the 10-day Global Citizens Youth Summit launching in Tokyo, Japan from July 25 to August 3, 2019 are now open!
We are also pleased to announce that applications for the Second Annual Professional Development Seminar taking place in Tokyo, Japan from July 29 to August 2, 2019 are now open!
The Fellowship
Who:
Secondary school students (current Freshmen, Sophomores or Juniors, who will be 16-18 years old by July 25, 2019)
If applicant's first language or secondary school's language of instruction is not English, official English language test scores (e.g. TOEFL) are required
Students with global leadership potential who want to make a positive difference in the world
Eager to participate in group discussions about global issues
What:
Must commit to attend the Summit in Tokyo from July 25 - August 3, 2019, in its entirety, as part of the GCI Fellowship
Must commit to launch a Glocal Service Project during the 9 months post-Summit
Application Deadline: January 31, 2019 at 11:59PM EST
The Seminar
Who:
Secondary school educators interested in empowering youth
To be able to succeed in the Seminar's immersive learning experience, applicants must possess a highly developed proficiency in spoken and written English
Educators aspiring to include Discussion-Based Learning and the Design Thinking method in their classroom
Educators who would consider implementing aspects of the GCI Method in their classroom
What:
Must commit to attend the Seminar in Tokyo from July 29 - August 2, 2019, in its entirety
Application Deadline: March 5, 2019 at 11:59PM EST
The application requires an application fee
Need-based financial aid is available on a limited basis; financial aid need must be indicated and all forms completed during the initial application
