Microsoft is planning to introduce a new light theme into Windows 10 with the next major update. The software giant unveiled the theme today in a new test build of Windows 10, and it looks like a new take on the white theme that exists in the operating system. Microsoft is essentially bringing this white theme system-wide, allowing all of the UI to appear white. To compliment the new light theme, Microsoft is also tweaking the default wallpaper of Windows 10 so it better fits the new theme.

This new light theme will first appear in the next major update to Windows 10, expected to debut in April next year. Codenamed 19H1, it also includes improvements to the new snipping tool, updates to the printing app, and intelligent hours for Windows Update so it doesn’t randomly reboot your device.

Microsoft is also tweaking the brightness slider in the notification center and adding a dark theme to the built-in OneDrive app for Windows 10. Windows Insiders can test the new changes as part of a public beta, before they’re made more broadly available early next year.
