Q:
Do they cater for corporate events?
A:
They catered a birthday party for me, but you have to go in to talk to them. I suggest you talk to the brother. I loved the food, but I did find some of it strangely overpriced. $22 for a container of cheese for the taco toppings. It was more… more

The food here is surprisingly great and the service is fast! Highly recommend trying the al pastor tacos.

I ordered for delivery via an app. The restaurant confirmed my order. Twenty minutes later they cancelled it. No reach out, no reason given, and no substitutions attempted (which is what my settings are set for in case an item is unavailable).
This is extremely bad practice, and tells me all I need to know about what type of business this is. I'd never again consider them when trying to get my kids fed.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 598222381Nov 16, 2023
One of our go-to spots on the Island!
I love their Al Pastor tacos. The meat is very flavorful, not drenched in oil, and pretty lean.
I love how customizable the bar is, you can load up as much as you want (though guacamole is extra $). Fresh corn tortillas that you can literally watch them press and cut out. Complementary tortilla chips and salsa with your dine-in orders (not sure about take-out, as we always eat there in the back room) and they always honor the Yelp check-in offer for a free drink. Tuesdays are great - 3 for $10 taco special and it's quite filling.
The staff are always very friendly and service is good; it's always been clean when we go. Self-serve water and you can bus your dishes directly as well.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jul 19, 2023
We were seated right away! Not a lot of smiles or welcoming atmosphere or attention we got. They seemed busy and in a rush throughout the meal. I personally, don't like that feeling when spending time with my family and friends over a meal!
The drinks are well poured and plenty of ice! Every drink was refreshing.
The food was authentic Mexican! No awkward flavors, just good old Mexican food!! The rice and beans were aplenty and tasty! My taco salad had a lot of grilled chicken! Yum!
I will gladly go back, but will probably order to go.
I enjoyed the decor! But there is no music, which is weird for a Mexican food restaurant.
Semi clean restrooms.
Parking lot in the back!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Mae A.Emeryville, CA56112Apr 14, 2024
I ordered shredded chicken for my taco and famoso burrito it was dry and hard to chew with no flavor.

I was pretty disappointed with the food we ordered. We ordered a dozen of street tacos however when we picked it up it wasn't what we expected. I asked that the wet sides to be all on the side however it wasn't. I asked for sour cream and cheese on the side and we didn't receive it either. I didn't pick it up myself so I wasn't able to let them know until it got home. Aside from that I did not see much carne asada in the tacos. For a tray that cost $50.00 it's quite disappointing to receive such quality tacos.

La Penca's food is good enough albeit a little pricey but the drinks are bustin! They're open super late so when those late cravings come on, they'll be there for you. Not on their menu, is their creamy coconut mojito, which is so freaking good. I go there specifically for that beverage. Their salsa that comes with the chips is pretty good too.

A very fast moving line and good production line here that makes your food which ensures that you can be in and out quickly even at busy times like lunch. The burritos are well made and a very reasonable price for how good they taste.

One of our favorite spots in Alameda! The ingredients are always fresh, you can add as many toppings as you please, and the salsas are delicious. Highly recommend the Tacos de Costra!

After the Antique Flea Market nearby we came by to grab a bite to eat as this place had pretty good ratings on Yelp.
I'm not much of a Mexican food gal but this place didn't disappoint. I ordered the Quesabirria with Consume. It was corn tortilla that was freshly made from this machine (see my photo).
This place was so clean. The bar was spotless. Staff were friendly. Saw staff cleaning store windows outside when we were leaving. This place cares about their cleanliness which is great!
This restaurant is really big. One side u can go in and sit down to order and eat. But if u walk to the left side of it, they have this taco bar area where u can just get a quick bite and go. And thats what we did.
If you crave for some Mexican food. Come here and give this place a shot.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
