Exclusive Trailer Debut: The Misty Copeland Documentary A Ballerina’s Tale

How she made history as an African-American ballerina.

As the first-ever African-American principal dancer with the American Ballet Theater, Misty Copeland, described earlier this year as “the first crossover star the ballet world has seen in decades,” is already a major star. Now she’s about to add “movie star” to her impressive résumé, with the debut of A Ballerina’s Tale, a documentary about Copeland’s rise to fame.

In the exclusive trailer above, you can hear Copeland narrate her life story and explain just how much it means to be the A.B.T.’s first African-American principal dancer. A Ballerina’s Tale opens in theaters and on V.O.D. October 14.
