Mayweather should fight Golovkin

This is not an article criticizing or slamming Floyd Mayweather Jr. Floyd’s 20 years in the professional ring speak for themselves!

Understandably when you hear rumors of Floyd’s return and the $100M plus payday he’s expecting for his 50th fight without a loss, as a fight fan you want to pay for a fight where Floyd faces a formidable foe.

Floyd’s not going to get $100M for Keith “One Time” Thurman, Adrien “The Problem” Broner, “Showtime” Shawn Porter or IBF welterweight champion Kell “Special K” Brook. Nobody wants to see him in a rematch against Manny “Paccman” Pacquiao.

There’s only one guy that people will pay to see Floyd fight and that’s IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO middleweight champion Gennady “GGG” Golovkin (35-0, 32 KOs) Now Floyd Sr. and the rest of the Mayweather/TMT clan say that Floyd is too small for GGG. This I’ll agree is true but being too small never stopped Roy Jones Jr. from facing John Ruiz, never stopped Bernard Hopkins from facing Antonio Tarver and certainly never stopped Michael Spinks from facing the Easton Assassin-Larry Holmes twice.

With this being said what did all three of these men have in common other then winning those fights? Mackie Shilstone!
Shilstone the physical trainer of all 3-men helped them gain the weight, and, gain the strength and power to perform in the higher weight classes. Floyd could do this too! From the looks of what Shilstone was able to do for Spinks, Roy Jones and Hopkins his training methods enhanced their abilities to a point that allowed them to easily beat their foes.

If Floyd is going to return he should give Shilstone a call.
