CompetencyWorks is hosting a Technical Advisory Group (TAG) for "Professional Learning and Development for Competency-Based Education." The purpose of the TAG is to:
● Understand critical differences between professional development in traditional and
competency-based education systems;
● Visualize key elements of a possible future state for professional development in a high-quality
competency-based education system, and identify best practices in professional development
for competency-based education;
● Anticipate and understand the shifts in professional development needed to transition to and
eventually sustain competency-based education; and
● Identify possible entry points and strategies at multiple levels of practice.
Save-the-Dates for July 16-20: There will be a phone call on July 16th from 12-1 pm ET on the first day to launch the TAG. During this call, we will review the purpose of the TAG, the outline of the draft paper, and the process of participation. However, if you can’t make the call, that’s fine. There will be directions in the google doc and Katherine can guide you as you start to participate.
We will share a draft document through google docs and ask TAG participants to share their insights and reflections during a one-week virtual session on July 16-20.
Katherine Casey will be online during the week and responding in real time to your insights. We hope you will be able to check back to the google doc several times throughout the week as ideas develop.
After you submit this form, we will contact you with more details and next steps. If you have questions, please contact Katherine Casey at
kcasey83@gmail.com or Natalie Abel at
nabel@inacol.org.
Thank you for your interest in joining this TAG. Your expertise and valuable insights will contribute in important ways to advancing competency education.
