Kerrin Maurer Named Mount St. Mary’s Women’s Lacrosse Assistant Coach

9/1/2015

Emmitsburg, MD -- Kerrin Maurer, Duke's all-time career assists leader and two-time All-American, will join the Mount St. Mary's University women's lacrosse team's coaching staff as an assistant, Head Coach Lauren Schwarzmann announced today.

"I am very excited to welcome Kerrin to our staff," Schwarzmann said. "Kerrin was an exceptional player at Duke University. Among her many accomplishments, she is a two-time All American and set the school record for assists. She will bring a wealth of knowledge and energy to our team. I know she will complement our staff well and that our players will learn a tremendous amount from her on and off the field."

Maurer, who is a 2015 graduate of Duke, set a school record with 119 career assists and led the Blue Devils in scoring three times throughout her career. A Tewaaraton Award nominee in 2013, 2014 and 2015, Maurer earned IWLCA First Team All-America recognition as a senior in 2015 after taking home second team accolades in 2014.

Currently a member of Italy's national team, Maurer graduated second in Duke history with 280 career points and is tied for fourth in program history for career goals with 161. She was recognized as a First Team All-Atlantic Coast Conference attacker as a senior and a second team pick as a sophomore and junior.

On the club level, Maurer served as head coach of Long Island Express Lacrosse based out of Huntington, N.Y. in the summers since 2011. She has also gained experience working at camps in North Carolina, Michigan and New York.

"Kerrin is driven, hard-working and eager to coach at the collegiate level," Schwarzmann added. "I look forward to working with her as we continue to elevate the Mount Lacrosse program."
