E! to air Joan Rivers tribute on one-year anniversary of her death

Joan Rivers died a year ago Sept. 4, and E! is honoring the late comedian with a special tribute hosted by Joan’s daughter, Melissa, that will air Sept. 3.

E! previously paid tribute to Joan soon after her death when they aired a special 90-minute episode of Fashion Police featuring Melissa, Kelly Osbourne, Giuliana Rancic, and George Kotsiopoulos last year. This year’s will feature clips of Joan from her time on the show, including bloopers and behind-the-scenes footage.

“For the last four years, this set has been home to the funniest, most outrageous voice in comedy,” Melissa said from the Fashion Police set in a preview for last year’s show. “This chair was the place where a woman spoke the truth about celebrities and fashion and did it in a way that was hilarious and absolutely 100 percent original,”

Celebrating Joan airs Sept. 3 at 8 p.m. ET on E!.
