RCMP officers in Maple Ridge are investigating after a man flipped his car into a ditch that was full of water.
It happened just before 1 a.m. near 232 Street and Dogwood Avenue.
Officials believe the man was backing out of a driveway when he ended up trapped under his car in the ditch.
Firefighters and police officers worked together to free the man, using airbags to help lift up the car so they could pull him out.
He was then rushed to hospital in serious condition.
On Tuesday, a man from Abbotsford died after crashing his car into a water-filled ditch in Pitt Meadows.
