Xterrain 500, a fatbike that rides on sand and snow

If you like all-terrain bicycles, you probably know riding one on the sand is no easy task. It might not be a problem while you’re riding in the dense and packed sand, but try to go in the central part of the beaches and you’ll be in a world of pain.

The Xterrain 500 Fatbike is here to provide a solution. With its 10’’ wide front wheel, the fatbike offers enough traction to be effective in any kind of sand (and might even be able to ride over deep snow). We had already seen fatbikes capable of going in all sorts of terrains, but the Xterrain 500 is the first one to offer such a large front wheel. You can swap it easily for a normal tire, and the bike uses a small motor to help you get a smoother ride. A motor that might not exactly be optional: with such a big front tire and an overall weight of 70lbs, the Xterrain 500 is big’n’heavy.

The company is looking for a funding and should be beginning an indiegogo campaign soon for the Xterrain 500. And to be honest, we are looking forward to seeing more of this bike (especially regarding its potential ability on deep snow).
