It was a hard-fought battle among twenty of the city's top patties, as voted by Time Out New York readers. For five hours, the city's burger aficionados packed the South Street Seaport, sampling each meaty contender and casting ballots to determine which would take home the grand title.
The Staten Island haunt's standard-raising patty ultimately won hearts (and votes) with a blend of freshly ground Pat LaFrieda chuck, short rib and brisket coated in Hillside Farms American cheese on a potato roll. Last night's booth also featured a surprise cameo from CNBC's Marcus Lemonis, who helped revive the then low-profile eatery on the reality series The Profit in 2015.
