Description

The Product Management Department is looking for a new Product Manager to take on our Business and Management products on the Learning Pillar side of the business. Do you want a varied role, with wide ranging responsibilities? Are you excited about product development and the changing ways in which we deliver content to our audiences? Do you like engaging with data in order to make informed decisions? Do you like market research, technical development, meeting with customers and engaging with users? If you do, then maybe this is the opportunity for you.       

In this role, you would be the Product Manager for three SAGE products: SAGE Business Cases, SAGE Business Researcher and CQ Researcher. Each is at different stages of development.

  • You will work with partners in Editorial to create and deliver practical commercial propositions, and with partners in Marketing to deliver the product that the customer and the user needs.
  • You will lead the execution of product development, delivering high quality business plans, and pursuing necessary product improvements, maintaining the team’s focus on commercial success.
  • You will work to identify market needs and respond quickly and leading the efforts of your product team.  
  • You will think big about the opportunities for your products, while focusing on practical, achievable deliverables to improve and grow SAGE’s online offering.
  • You will show autonomy in driving product improvements and new product launches through the appropriate processes, and you will be accountable for your decision making. 
  • You will demonstrate a deep curiosity in all aspects of your product, working diligently to build a strong knowledge of the target users and buyers. You will support the evolution of the online content strategy for SAGE, defining SAGE’s unique value proposition in the market, working with partners across the business.

The candidate:

  • 2 -  3 years of online product development, or equivalent, experience.
  • A self-starter who can manage large projects involving multi-faceted teams from end to end.
  • Able to gather and analyse data, to channel multiple view points, and then to make recommendations to the business.
  • Be a competent presenter, both within the business and with customers. You must be able to argue your case.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; UK - 2:1 or higher
  • Experience working in academic publishing preferred
  • Experience working with subscription products preferred
