Unisa releases results of its first full online examinations

The University of South Africa (Unisa) is currently releasing the results of its May/June examinations. The examinations were administered fully online as was necessary due to the Covid-19 pandemic lockdown regulations. These fully online examinations were a historic first for the university and students submitted more than 1,3 million digital examination scripts for assessment.

Harnessing its expertise and past experience in open, distance and e-learning (ODeL), Unisa gave its students the opportunity to write their examinations online as it was not possible to write at examination venues due to the government requirements for social distancing and the limitations on travel. Those students who did not write their exams during the May/June examination session, for whatever reason, will be permitted to postpone their examinations to the October/November period.

The university is releasing the examination results as soon as they become available. Unisa had aimed to have all results released by 27 July 2020, but, due to unforeseen challenges some results might only be available after the set date. Results will be released as and when they are marked.

The university would like to assure students who receive their results later than expected that they will be accommodated with their second semester registration. Unisa is committed to serving its students with excellence and appreciates the way students have walked with the university and tackled unchartered territories during the difficult Covid-19 pandemic.
