Tee Off Downtown, an event to kick off The Players Championship week, was held at Unity Plaza, the amphitheater at 220 Riverside, on Friday May 1, 2015.

Though its first residents moved in more than three months ago, 220 Riverside will hold its official grand opening on Thursday. The 294 apartments were 69 percent pre-leased, a spokeswoman said.

The complex is currently 44 percent occupied with move-ins continuing as floors are completed.

Late last year, developers NAI Hallmark Partners announced a second phase of 213 more apartments would be built immediately east of 220 Riverside.

The 18,000 square feet of retail has two confirmed restaurants going in: Sbraga and Co., owned by Philadelphia chef Kevin Sbraga; and Hobnob by the local group that owns Candy Apple Cafe & Cocktails in Sweet Pete's downtown and the Chef's Garden in Cummer Museum of Art & Garden.

Both are expected to open in the fall.

Thursday's event takes place 10 to 11:30 a.m., with the ribbon cutting by City Council President Greg Anderson happening at 10:30 a.m.
