On Valentines Day most think about love but some are thinking about how it ends.

There's a bill that is being proposed by representative Matt Krause in the Texas house proposing to change the rules on how you could file for divorce.

In Webb County alone, 1,048 people filed for divorce in 2016 but if the house bill does become a law that number could drop.

In Texas, when you go before a judge to file for divorce, you can do so as 'no fault'.

Attorney Martha Cigarroa De Llano has represented people who file this way but if house bill 93 is passed, that option will be more leaving people with only an 'at fault' divorce.

In Texas, at fault means, adultery, abandonment, mental hospital confinement, cruelty, felony conviction or a prolonged time of living apart.

All the details proving why your partner is at fault may help you win the case, but De Llano believes it could also lead to spending more time and money in the courtroom.

Attorney Cigarroa De Llano says she spoke to representative Kraus office.

They said it would be the second time they try to file the bill.

Right now the bill is still in the house juvenile justice & family issue committee.

The second sponsor of the bill is republican representative Erwin Cain.
