Wheeling Island Hotel Casino Racetrack will be celebrating the retirement of one of its most successful greyhounds, according to a press release.
An All-American Greyhound named Kinda Cruel Red will be honored with a retirement party on Saturday, March 10 at 12:30 p.m. at Wheeling Island Hotel Casino Racetrack.
Kinda Cruel Red will be honored with cupcakes, and the first 100 party attendants will receive a t-shirt.
Kinda Cruel Red came from Palm Beach Kennel Club in May 2016, and completed his career at Wheeling Island Hotel Casino Racetrack on December 10, 2017.
During his time, he won six racing cards in a row, from July 15, 2016 through August 17, 2016.
His wins earned him an All-American title.
“We are excited to be hosting an event that pays tribute to a sport our property was built upon” said Carrie Scanlon, Senior Director of Marketing, in a press release.
Scanlon said that honoring Kinda Cruel Red with a party is “a fitting tribute to the greyhound’s successful career at Wheeling Island.”
According to Wheeling Island officials, the public is welcome to attend.
